With a growing demand for flexible training delivery, ByPen needed a digital platform to extend their reach beyond traditional in-person sessions — enabling remote learners across the country to complete certification programs at their own pace.

Challenge & Objectives

The client's existing workflow relied heavily on in-person training sessions for legally mandated qualifications — from SSM and SU certifications to ISCIR-regulated operator licenses. This limited their geographical reach and scalability. As demand grew, they needed a way to deliver structured, step-by-step courses online while maintaining the rigor and compliance required for official certifications.

Technical Solution

Rather than building a learning platform from scratch, we chose to integrate and deeply customize an open-source LMS — tailoring every layer to match the client's specific training workflows, branding, and certification requirements.

The platform was configured to support structured course delivery with enforced step-by-step progression, ensuring learners complete each module before advancing. Video classrooms were integrated for live and recorded training sessions, providing the same interactive experience as in-person workshops.

A template-based certificate generation system was implemented, allowing administrators to define certificate layouts and have them automatically populated with learner data upon course completion — drastically reducing manual effort and turnaround time.

The user management layer was extended to support bulk enrollment, role-based access, progress tracking, and reporting dashboards — giving administrators full visibility into learner activity across all active courses.

A dedicated mobile application provides learners with on-the-go access to courses, video content, and assessments from any device.
